Our Framework

The Model

The Bexar County Fostering Educational Success Pilot program is an evidence-based and trauma-informed strategic framework tailored to meet the educational and external needs of youth with foster care history.

Our model prioritizes the academic aspirations and pursuits of our students while recognizing the social, emotional, and environmental factors that may create barriers to higher education attainment.

Collaborative Partnership

Our college and university partners (UTSA, TAMUSA, & ACD campuses) provide a comprehensive, strengths-based approach to educational success by addressing supportive relationships and community connections, physical and mental health, finances and employment, and housing.

Bexar County Children’s Court, and Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA), will provide targeted mentoring, advocacy, and academic support to improve college readiness for youth still in foster care through the "college-bound docket.

The trauma-informed educational and life domain support consists of the College Bound Docket and CASA, Campus Support, CLIMB, Supervised Independent Living, Community Partnerships, and Youth Voice.
