CLIMB Above
The Bexar County Fostering Educational Success Program and the Honors College at UTSA are partnering to empower youth with lived experience in foster care through our comprehensive and innovative programs. The CLIMB Above programming includes:

Tutoring/Mentoring Program:

One-on-one sessions by certified tutors/mentors for at least 25 students per semester, with one-hour weekly sessions

Dedicated support to boost academic success

A minimum of 16 hours of contact with youth participants per semester

Advocacy & Action Course:
-
College course focused on advocacy, civic engagement, policy reform, and bill development
-
Monthly peer group sessions for advocacy planning
Eligibility

In or aged out of foster care, ages 16-24
-
Enrolled in high school or community college
-
Lives in the following independent school districts: San Antonio, Edgewood, South San Antonio, Southwest, Northside, North East, Judson
